Gawker "Journalist" goes psycho

So, I don't think a lot of Kotaku or any of the Gawker network. But something happened on Gizmodo the other day that took things to 11.

On November 11th, Gizmodo reporter wrote an article. This article was aimed at telling the readers of Gizmodo to "f*** off". He even went as far as to put this little swear-bomb in the description.

He opens by calling his audience stupid. He then follows up by implying that the only justification for their IQ is if they are autistic. Which, to me, a guy with Asperger's, is incredibly rude. Hell, it would be incredibly rude without the Asperger's. But I'm sure that I'm not the only autistic or Aspergery guy reading Gizmodo. It's a tech site after all. He finishes by calling us "s***-eaters".

Good going, Joel. Way to represent your company.

I'm a blogger. It's perfectly fine for me to throw a tantrum. Joel Johnson works for a journalism site, no matter what lengths he goes to in order to justify "his opinion". What he wrote was not an editorial. It was an immature attack on the very people that keep the Gawker network running through hits. What's even more disturbing is the amount of people that think this behavior is okay, but that's a story for another blog entry.

The internet is full of trolls and ignorance. It is full of people with differing ideas about how stuff works. But that is no excuse for verbally slandering your user base. This is exactly why comment sections exist. For debate. So your readers can communicate with you, and with one another.

There is literally no excuse for what he wrote.
