There is an article over on Jezebel concerning the inability for gamers to modify their breast size in DCU Online. Of course this has become the latest Drama Llama among the internet. In fact, I don't understand why I'm even making a blog post on the subject. I guess I'm writing in order to collect my thoughts. I understand that it would cause a fuss if the female superheroes were not busty, just as much as it would if they were. And, let's not be coy about the subject, superheroines have been "traditionally" drawn with giant breasts. Hell, a vast majority of people (well, let's hope it is the minority) read comics simply to get their rocks off because they actually want the comic world to be theirs.
But I mean, come on. There are super-boobs, and then there are these things, beings whose very existence kind of skews the conversation towards "or maybe you have a good point there".
I have to steel my resolve as not to comment on any of the 50 million "but that's what comics ARE" posts in that article's comments section.
Merry Christmas!

VGA 2010 predictions
Now, I understand the the Video Game Awards are completely inane and stupid, but here are my picks anyhow:
Character of the Year
Ezio
John Marsten
Kratos
Sgt. Woods
Game of the Year
Call of Duty: Black Ops
God of War III
Halo: Reach
Mass Effect 2
Red Dead Redemption
While ME2 is going to give many slight pause, RDR is and has been the belle of the ball this year.
Studio of the Year
BioWare
Blizzard
Bungie
Rockstar San Diego
BioWare has had a hit come out every two to three months, and has supported both their lead franchises with monthly DLC. It's a no-brainer. I only wish that UbiSoft was in the place of Bungie.
Best XBox 360 Game
Alan Wake
Fable 3
Halo: Reach
Mass Effect 2
It's the only exclusive. It's a shoe-in.
Best PS3 Game
God of War III
Heavy Rain
Modnation Racers
Red Dead Redemption
Best Wii Game
Donkey Kong Country Returns
Kirby's Epic Yarm
Metroid: Other M
Super Mario Galaxy 2
Best PC Game
Fallout: New Vegas
Mass Effect 2
Civilization V
Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty
Best Handheld
God of War: Ghost of Sparta
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker
Professor Layton and the Unwound Future
Super Scribblenauts
Best Shooter
Battlefield: Bad Company 2
BioShock 2
Call of Duty: Black Ops
Halo: Reach
None of these options are that great. So it's best to go with the one people continue to play.
Best Action-Adventure Game
Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
God of War III
Red Dead Redemption
Super Mario Galaxy 2
Best RPG
Fable III
Fallout: New Vegas
Final Fantasy XIII
Mass Effect 2
.... and even though there are twenty more categories, this is how much I care.
